Schedule Changes

Procedures Regarding the Schedule Change Process

We believe that at times, it is necessary for a student to make schedule changes after the commencement of the school year.  Schedule changes may occur once the school year has already begun only if:

1.  A clerical error has been made on the student's schedule.  For example, the student was erroneously not scheduled to take a required course.

2.  An 11th or 12th grade student wishes to change their Course of Study based on a change in career goals.

3.  Your child has an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and the IEP team feels it is in the best interest of the student to change the course schedule.

4.  The teacher, parent, student, guidance counselor, and school principal decide that it is in the best interest of the student to change a course schedule based on extenuating circumstances.

5.  If your child fails a course during the 2007-2008  school year and does not complete the failed course during the summer of 2008.  If this occurs, your child's 2008-2009 course schedule will be changed to include the failed course.

It is important to know that a schedule MAY be changed throughout the summer, up until the first day of school.  After this date, NO SCHEDULE CHANGES will be permitted unless it falls under one of the 5 categories listed above. 

The counselors will be in and out of the office during the summer.  Please see one of the Principals if the counselors are not available to change the schedule.
