5TH GRADE REQUIREMENTS FOR COLONY PROJECT

This is a project that will be completed in library and the computer lab.  Each student will be required to research an American colony.  The final product to be completed will be a power point presentation with a bibliography and note cards attached.  Library and computer lab class time will be given to complete the project.

At least 6-10 note cards completed in correct format.                                             50

1 note card=front and back

The following information should be included in your note cards:

Who founded the colony? When? Why? Who were the important people involved in the early settlement of your colony? How did the colony get its name? What were the reasons for the settlement of your colony? (Religious, economical, etc.) How did the settlers from your colony make their living? What were the schools like in your colony?

A complete bibliography that follows MLA format.                                                        30
