REQUIREMENTS

5TH Grade Independent Research Project

Students will choose a topic of their choice, develop 4 higher level questions about their topic, locate the answers to their questions using at least 3 sources, and create a bibliography in MLA format.

Following is a list of requirements.

Question sheet with 4 higher level questions                                    10

              Complete sentences

              Neatly done

5-7 Note cards that follow format                                                   50                           

              Note cards include important facts about your questions.

              Note cards include notes; not copied sentences.

              Note cards are legible

Must use 3 sources                                                                         10

              Anything in print (Magazines, encyclopedia, reference books, books, etc.)

              Database from Power Library (SIRS, Biography Reference Bank, etc.)

              Website (Must be reliable site)

Bibliography that lists all sources in MLA format                             30

Note card format
