Picturing America Final Project

 

Students have been learning about the Picturing America portfolio of American art prints.  They have discussed the prints in art class, had online discussions about the prints during computer classes, and are now going to research a print of their choice in library class. Students, in small groups, will create a list of 3 questions about their chosen print that they would like to research.  During the next few weeks in library class, students will be given the opportunity to find the answers to their questions.  Following is a list of requirements for this project. 

 

 

 

Each group should have 3 well written questions about their print                  15

              Questions should be higher level

 

 

 

Each group is responsible for 1 set of note cards that follow format             5

 

 

 

Answers to questions must be supported with at least 5 facts                     50

              Answers should be thorough and go beyond yes/no answers

              Answers should be as detailed as possible

 

 

Each group is responsible for 1 bibliography in MLA format                     20

that includes ALL sources used                                                    

 

 

 

Students must use at least 3 sources:                                                            10

              Books (Can be anything printed:  Encyc., books, ref. books, magazines, etc.)

              Power Library Databases

              Internet (Google One Key, Net Trekker, etc.)
