Works Cited Format

          A bibliography is a listing of sources used in the preparation of a research paper or project.

          Arrange the list of works cited alphabetically by author.  If a source has more than one author, alphabetize by the first author’s last name.  Follow the instuctions in Typing Your Bibliography to correctly format the page.

One Author

Last name, First name. Title of the Book. City of Publication: Name of Publisher, Year of Publication.

Two Authors

Two Last name, First name, and First Name Last Name.  Title of the Book. City of Publication: Name of Publisher, Year of Publication.

Work from an Anthology

Last name, First name. “Title of article or essay.” Title of the book.  Ed. First and Last name of Editor. City of Publication: Name of Publisher, Year of Publication.  Page numbers.

Encyclopedia

Last name, First name.  “Title of article.”  Title of the book.  Year of Publication ed.

Magazine or Newspaper

Last name, First name.  “Title of article.” Title of the magazine. Day Month Year of Publication: Pages article found on.

Radio or Television Program

Title of Program. Writ and prod. First name last name. Dir. First name last name. Channel shown, Location of station. Date of showing.

Video

Title of Program. Writ and prod. First name last name.  Dir. First name last name. Date of viewing

Interview

Last name, First name.  Personal Interview. Day Month Year of Interview.

Computer Software

Last name, First name (if known). Title of Software. Version of software.  Computer software.  Publisher of Software, Year of Publication.  List Operating System and memory necessary for operation of the program.

Electronic Sources

CD-ROM Database

"Title of the Article." Title of Software. CD-ROM. Place of Publication: Publisher of Software, Year of Publication.

Personal Site

Last name, first name (if known.) Home Page. Day Month Year of visit to Web site <complete Address>

Professional Site

Title of Web site. Name of Educational Institution prepaing and maintaining site. Day Month Year of visit to Web site <Complete Address>.
