MRS. LONG'S POLICY ON COMING PREPARED

All students in grades 4-6 need to bring their library notebook, pencil, and rubrics (if needed) to every library class.

If  students are prepared, they receive a check mark in the grade book. At the end of every grading period, these checks will be used as part of their final grade of O, S, or N.

If all students in one class come prepared three times, the class as a whole receives a "treat" that is at Mrs. Long's discretion.  The class can decide to "save" their 3 check marks until they accumulate 6 checks.  At this point, students may vote to get a free book or watch a movie.

PENALTIES FOR NOT COMING PREPARED

If students are not prepared, they receive a minus in the grade book.

During the first 9-week grading period students have 3 chances to come unprepared.  After 3 times, their recess is revoked for 1 day.*

During the second 9-week grading period students have 2 chances to come unprepared.  After 2 times, their recess is revoked for 1 day.*

During the third 9-week grading period, students have 1 chance to come unprepared.  After 1 time, their recess is revoked for 1 day.*

During the fourth 9 week grading period students immediately get their recess revoked if they do not come prepared.

*SPECIAL NOTES

Students spend any recess that is revoked with Mrs. Long in the library re-writing their notes until recess is over.

Students who do not show up for detention (because of forgetfulness) get their detention doubled.  For example, if Max Smith does not show up for recess on his designated day he then has 2 days of no recess.

If coming unprepared becomes a habit, it is at the discretion of Mrs. Long to increase the number of days of recess revoked.
