Task 1:

During this activity you will be exploring world cities. You will use the internet sites provided, along with Google's One Key Safe Search, Yahooligans. Choose any two of the cities listed.

Click the following link to access a National Geographic World Map. Copy the map.

Open Microsoft Paint and paste the map into the Paint Window. Add a plot point and a text box to show the location of the two cities and draw a line in between them.

Use map sites or search engines to answer the following questions.

If you were to fly directly between the two cities, what bodies of water would you cross?

On what continents, and in what countries are your cities located? Is the city the capital of that country? If not, what is the capital city?

Would you need to exchange your money when traveling from one city to the next?

Which of the two cities is larger in population?

Locate one major landmark in each of your cities and explain why it is important.

What is the weather in each city today? Give the temperature and precipation expected.

Task 2:

Write up the results of your research in a coimparison paragraph that compares the location, population, weather and currency used in each city.

Find the distance between the two cities.
