Heading South for the Winter?

Every winter we watch huge flocks of birds take off and fly south for the winter. Many Americans also choose to spend the colder months of the year in a warmer climate. Your task is to explore the states that make up the Southeastern region of the United States. What makes these states an attractive destination for people wanting to escape the wintery weather of the north?

To begin our exploration, we will look at the weather of each of the southeastern states. Use Netstate.com to look up the current temperature in each states' capital city. You will record your findings on the Southeast spreadsheet template. Click here to open the spreadsheet. Use the Save As command to save the sheet in your home directory. When your sheets are complete, we will use them to create a graph that will compare the temperatures in each of the cities.
