Paying for School Meals
Homer-Center Food Services uses a computer-based point of sale system. A computerized system identifies whether the child qualifies for free or reduced-price meals or is full paid. The system is confidential and only authorized Food Services staff have access the to child's account.
Payment for meals is expected at the time of the purchase. Each child has their own account in which parents can deposit any amount of money at any time. Payment can be sent in via check, cash, or using the online payment system, School Café.
Please note: if you opt to send in a check or cash for meal payment please make sure you place the check or cash in a sealed envelope. Please ensure the child’s full name is on the envelope and the classroom teacher.
A popular feature of School Cafe is the "Set it and forget it" payment option, which automatically adds funds to your student's meal account. Funds can be added weekly, monthly, or when the balance runs low. A convenience fee does apply to payments made in your student accounts when using a credit or debit card. This fee is assessed by School Café, and you will have the opportunity to review any fees before you are charged.
